Taylor Swift Says John Mayer is "Presumptuous"

Oct 02, 2012 -- 9:00am
  • Taylor Swift is known for kissing and telling in her songs, just leaving out details like who she’s talking about.  Well, in her latest interview with Glamour magazine, which she covers, she calls out John Mayer for presuming her fan-favorite “Dear John” is about him.  While she doesn’t outright say it isn’t about him, she doesn’t confirm it either saying, “How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.”  When the interviewer tried to go on and reiterate what Mayer said, Taylor cut her off saying, “I don’t want to know.”  She went on to say she knew she couldn’t handle it, but explained her feelings saying, “It's not that I'm this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check. But I've never developed that thick a skin. So I just kind of live a life, and I let all the gossip live somewhere else. If you go too far down the rabbit hole of what people think about you, it can change everything about who you are.”  Swift has done a better job than most her age pulling that off.
