And the girl crush continues!  Kacey Musgraves will team up with tourmate Katy Perry for the next installment of CMT’s Crossroads.  Musgraves says, I've been such a HUGE fan of Katy and her vision since I found out about her. So, joining forces with her for Crossroads is going to be incredible. In some ways we're on opposite ends of the spectrum, but in a lot of ways our music makes total sense together.”  And Perry returns the sentiment saying, “To me, Kacey Musgraves is an artist that should be a household name because she offers a unique perspective with her writing style.  It's going to be a BLAST to play on each other’s songs this Crossroads. It will be a preview to our Prismatic World Tour road trip this summer WHICH I CAN'T WAIT FOR!”  They will record the show in LA at the end of this month and it will air across all CMT platforms on June 13th.

And a new album aims to honor Merle Haggard.  “Working Man’s Poet: A Tribute to Merle Haggard” boasts some impressive covers meant to show appreciation to The Hag.  Jason Aldean recorded two songs for the album, but admits one holds a special place in his heart.  In reference to recording “Going Where the Lonely Go,” Aldean says, “My dad was a big Merle Haggard fan, and I just remember him playing this song a lot as a kid. So given a chance to be part of this tribute, I wanted to do a song that meant a little something to me. And this was one that took me back to my days as a kid.”  Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks also recording songs.  Merle Haggard will also receive the Crystal Milestone Award this Sunday at the ACM Awards.  Listen to Jason's version of "Going Where the Lonely Go" here.
