Miranda Lambert promised a big announcement, and she delivered. Lambert will release her fifth studio album June 3rd. ‘Platinum’ includes 16 tracks, eight of which she wrote or co-wrote. By the time the album is released, it will have been over two and half years since her previous album. Lambert explains the delay saying, "From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you're rushed. And so I didn't want to rush it at all. To me it's all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album's done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.” One of the most anticipated tracks, ‘Something Bad,’ is a collaboration with Carrie Underwood. Fans can preorder Platinum now.
And Taylor Swift is working through her latest break up. Her publicist informed the Swift camp she will be resigning. Paula Erickson of Erickson Public Relations has represented Swift for seven years, very effectively. Can you count the number of television appearances and magazine covers Swift has appeared on in the last seven years? Being the worldwide superstar she is, Swift will have her pick of any publicist she wants, but according to Billboard, she will likely bring her PR work in house to coincide with her management company to integrate that person into the decision making process.
