Another First for George Strait!Aug 19, 2013 -- 9:00am
- Do ya feel like you’ve seen Luke Bryan everywhere for the last week? Prooobably because you have. From Jimmy Kimmel to the Today Show to Chelsea Handler, Luke crisscrossed the country the past week promoting “Crash My Party.” His fourth studio album is set to be his biggest and best debut to date. Industry pros are predicting Bryan sells over 450,000 copies of the new album in its first week. That’s a feat that hasn’t been done by a male country artist since Kenny Rogers back in 2005. - Any guesses on which country singer will be receiving the Legends of Live Award at Billboard’s Touring Awards in November? Of course it’s The King, George Strait! Of touring Strait tells Billboard, “There's nothing more rewarding than performing in front of a sold out, pumped-up, loud crowd. That's what keeps us coming back. I love it.” He is the first country artist to receive the honor. The award will be a nice predecessor to The King’s final year of touring as he finishes out his “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” in 2014.
