Blake Shelton Planning OK Benefit Concert for NBCMay 23, 2013 -- 9:00am
- While we all continue to pray and do what we can to support the folks of Moore, Oklahoma tornado, Blake Shelton is working with NBC to put together a benefit concert for the people of his home state. The show will be televised on NBC nationwide, but many details are still being put together. Shelton says, “I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly." If all goes as planned, the benefit concert will include several big artists, as Blake points to Usher and says, “I can call in some really big favors." Stay tuned for more details.
- And in lighter news, Tim McGraw is planning the release of live music for the first time. “McGraw Overdrive Live Series” will begin this Friday with the release of “Southern Girl” on TimMcGraw.com. These releases are unique in that McGraw has never released live music before and the music that Tim is playing on tour is being delivered to fans immediately. McGraw says, "The sound and energy from a live show gives an entirely new perspective to any song. I'm always looking for ways to give the fans something extra. If you're at the show, it's a cool memory to add to your playlist. And if you couldn't get a ticket to the show that night, you can still hear some of what happened and maybe feel like you were there. It's a first for me to release live tracks this way, and that's exciting." The remaining four songs will be released about every two weeks until all tracks are available.
