Tate Stevens Honored by Hometown

Apr 23, 2013 -- 9:00am
  • Missouri’s own Tate Stevens won X-Factor and his hometown of Belton, Missouri honored him on their 160 foot water tower.  Before finding fame on the FOX reality show, Stevens was a city worker in Belton.  The folks in the community raised 100% of the funds to have “Home of Tate Stevens, Live the Dream!” painted on their water tower not far from Stevens’ home.  Of the dedication, Tate said, “It’s moments like this that really make me smile.  The support I’ve felt from the community is incredible, and I hope I can continue to make them proud. I’m so incredibly humbled by this honor.”  Watch a time lapse video of the three day process at the Country Music Minute Blog.

  • Willie Nelson just released his latest album, but he’s already hard at work on his next project: A duets album with some high-profile female vocalists.  Nelson reveals, “Miranda Lambert and I just did one of the last songs that Waylon [Jennings] wrote. I'm looking forward to singing with all the girls in Nashville if I get a chance."  Barbra Streisand, Loretta Lynn, Rosanne Cash, Alison Krauss and Norah Jones are also included on the yet to be titled album.  No word on a release date yet.
