Blake Shelton...Officiant?Apr 09, 2013 -- 9:00am
- Well, with the ACMs behind us for another year, here’s one story you might not have heard. Remember last year when Taylor Swift asked teen cancer patient Kevin McGuire to the ACMs? Well, due to his illness he wasn’t able to make it. But Swift gave him a shout out in her Entertainer of the Year acceptance speech. While Taylor didn’t get to take the stage to accept an award this year, Kevin did get his dream come true. The Academy flew him and his family out to Vegas and set up a special meeting with Swift. And the best news? Kevin is officially cancer free.
- Blake Shelton isn’t quite done with his hosting duties for the year. Kelly Clarkson revealed, not only will Blake be her wedding singer, he’s also officiating the ceremony for her upcoming nuptials to Blake’s manager Brandon Blackstock. No word on how Blake went about getting the correct paperwork to make it official, but apparently he plans to put it to good use. Rumor has it he’ll also be conducting the ceremony for Hippie Annie Ashley Monroe’s wedding to White Sox pitcher John Danks.
- Lee Brice is also prepping for his upcoming wedding in Branson, but this week, he’s celebrating another number one hit. “I Drive Your Truck” topped the Mediabase airplay chart this week, and deservedly so. It’s one of those songs that you instantly relate to and really makes country music great. Lady Antebellum, Thompson Square, Chris Young and Miranda Lambert round out the top five on this week’s chart.
