Garth Brooks and George Strait to Perform TOGETHER!

Mar 21, 2013 -- 9:00am
  • The 48th annual ACM Awards just keep getting bigger!  George Strait and Garth Brooks are the most recent recipients of the Artist of the Decade award.  That award is being renamed the “ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award.”  And now in honor of longtime ACM producer, Dick Clark the two are coming together to perform a tribute to the media giant.  No word on what the performance will include, but Brooks says, “I commend the Academy on naming the ACM Artist of the Decade Award after Dick Clark.  Although there is no award the entertainment industry has that can match the magnitude of the star Dick Clark was, and still is, it is an honor to get to be a part of the Academy’s tribute to him.  There may be others who have contributed as much to the music industry, but there is definitely no one that has contributed more than Dick Clark.  He was music’s best friend, and a dear friend to me.”  You can catch the performance April 7th on CBS.
  • And the Pistol Annies are ready to release their sophomore album.  “Annie Up” will be released May 7th and includes twelve tracks.  A few track titles include, “Hush Hush,” “Dear Sobriety,” and “Girls Like Us.”  The all girl trio hasn’t released the lead single...yet.  Check out the album cover and complete track listing at the Country Music Minute Blog.
