A sad weekend for country music as more details are revealed surrounding the tragic death of singer Mindy McCready. McCready passed away Sunday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. McCready was found Sunday evening on the same porch where her boyfriend was found just last month. Cleburne County Arkansas Sheriff Marty Moss, said it appeared McCready shot her deceased boyfriend’s dog before turning the gun on herself. While the singer had struggled in recent years, the news sent shockwaves through the music community. Peers and fans alike expressed their sadness and sent condolences to her family. McCready was best known for her debut 1996 debut album “Ten Thousand Angels.”
In much lighter news, Eric Church released an intimate video for his latest single “Like Jesus Does.” The black and white video finds Church on a stool, his guitar and a mic...and that’s about it. The video and even the song itself, doesn’t have much production, but that only provides for more of an impactful delivery. Church really shines in this video.

And Taylor Swift is facing a lawsuit in regards to the Canadian Capital Hoedown that never happened last year. Swift was paid $2.5 million up front for her appearance, but the promoters were unable to get all the details worked out and the concert never happened. And while the promoters admit Swift had no fault in the concert not happening, they think she should pay back $1.8 of the advance money. 1.8 being the amount of money the promoters are responsible to pay back in ticket refunds. According to Taylor’s reps, she never had a deal with the company selling tickets and still hasn’t even seen the lawsuit. To be continued.
